5/18/20 – It’s Not Sensible!

I tried to wake you up starting at 6:45am. I wasn’t successful until 7:30a. You played and swam so hard all weekend and you slept even harder. Since I couldn’t shower you last night, I had to get you in there this morning! Once you were up, you were happy to jump in, but we had to go get ALL of your duckies first, so you could put them ALL in my shower! I had to be on a Zoom call at 8:30am with a panel I’m presenting with later today, so I let you know that when we got into my car. You waved at everyone when we got on and they all thought you were adorable. You were so good, quiet & respectful during my call. I was so proud of you. You whispered to ask me if we could do a Lingo when my call was done before you go into school lol. When we pulled into the parking lot, you asked me (in your sweetest voice) “Mama, could you please try to come and pick me up before nap today?” You gave me a huge hug & kiss before running inside happily. I hope you have an awesome day!

At school, you got to play the Very Hungry Caterpillar “Surprise Slides” game with George. In the art center, you began documenting the life cycle of the butterfly. When Ms. Sandy picked you up, she brought your umbrella because it rained most of the day. You were very happy about that surprise, even though it wasn’t raining when she picked you up. You complimented her on what a good idea it was to think to bring it!

Daddy beat me home and tried to get you to do a workout with him, but you weren’t really interested in it lol… You were painting and doing Spanish Lingos when I got home. You were so cute perched at the computer answering the questions. I kissed you then ran down to cook dinner. You insisted on helping, which I gladly accepted. You changed your dress and put on a princess crown for dinner – why not?!?!

You asked Daddy & I to play at your train table with you after dinner. You must have said ten times, “It’s not sensible daddy!” when he was trying to drive the trains around the track. I was laughing…where did you get the word “sensible” from?!?! Poor Harold ended up having the wear the princess crown, again, which he is less than enthused about each time! Fortunately, he’s a good sport and a great dog. You tell him you love him a lot, usually when you are nearly strangling him!! You were also drawing at your chalkboard. I have notice over the last week or so that you are holding pens, crayons & chalk so much more properly, out of nowhere it seems. It shows in the work coming home from school too. Writing your name is getting so much better and more consistent. I’m so proud of you!!

We headed to your room to do a few Kids Lingos, read two books & snuggled until you drifted off to sleep. Another fun day, another peaceful night. I am so in love with you. I am so grateful for you.

I love you so much!
