You slept through the night last night in your room. You came running to our room around 7am, already dressed for the day in shorts & a T-shirt. I asked you if you were going to wear a leotard to gymnastics today & you told me you forgot about gymnastics, but you weren’t interested in changing lol! You climbed in bed and snuggled with us for a few minutes.
You were incredible today in class. You were climbing on the high balance beams alone & showing no fear & great balance. Coach Lexi also took you guys in the back on the really high bars over the foam pit. You hung from the bar and swung by yourself, giggling when you dropped into the pit. The other kids were all scared, but not you!!!! Of course, you enjoyed chasing Baby Olivia around the floor, under the parachute & you even tried to do “crab people” with her! You were telling Veda, one of the girls in your class, that Olivia is a baby and doesn’t know so she needed to be careful with her. Chrissy was cracking up ad said you sounded just like me telling you to be careful with her!!! I frequently hear you parroting back what you hear me say… I hope that carries through and helps you when it’s time to make tough choices in your life. You are so kind and compassionate, and very worried about others. I hope you maintain that. It’s one of the most beautiful things about you!
After gymnastics, you wanted to go to the Farmer’s Market rather than fancy breakfast. Chrissy & Olivia joined us and you were protectively walking next to her, holding her hand and guiding her through the foot traffic! You insisted that we parked on the top level of the parking garage like we did last Saturday. You loved to be able to “see the whole city” from so high up. We had empanadas and you got to play with some kids as well. Of course, you pet 8,000 puppies too! Olivia was sleepy so we left.
We went home so Daddy could do some touch up painting since we listed our house for sale. He was driving your around the living room in his office chair before he got busy. I didn’t want you to be around while he was painting so we ran some errands.
Due to COVID, the bank branch lobbies were closed for quite some time. You had a bag full of paper money and checks laying around, so we took it to the bank so you could deposit it. I try to have you do it so you can participate, rather than using an ATM. You confidently walked up to the teller to conduct your transaction. You told him “I need to make a baposit (deposit) please.” He and the lady next to him were immediately impressed with how you carried yourself. You told him your name & how to spell it. He told you his name is Luis. He started to ask how old you are & before he could finish, you put up four fingers and stated “Four. I’m Four Years Old.”
We left the bank & headed to Aunt Debs to drop off a few things. You were in love with Broadway & he gave your thousands of puppy kisses. He chased you and you had so much fun throwing sticks for him to chew. You were laughing saying “he’s just like Captain” because Captain chases anything you throw him as well. Fed had a break from his classes, so you ended up scamming a nakie swim session. He made a slide out of an upside-down paddle board. You eagerly went down and even went head first once he showed you. You LITERALLY have NO fear!
You & Fed sang songs & had ice cream bars when you got out of the pool. Uncle Dali gave you a fish bowl & some stones. You were so excited you wanted to go home immediately and put a fish in it. I told you we needed to work together to decide what you could do to earn a fish. Then, you said we just put water on the stones and wait a few minutes & they turn into fish! lol. We had to go because it was getting late & Fed had a class to get ready for.
All that swimming wore you out. I asked you if you wanted to stop to get some books at the Goodwill bookstore. You have been in search of some small Toy Story Board books. You tried to get everything in the kids section, but we settled on about 6 or 7. We were headed to Whole Foods to get stuff to make pizza, and about 45 seconds into our drive, you were snoring. SO, we went home, picked up Daddy & went to Origin for pizzza. You slept right up until we parked. Although it was a little late (5-6p) you didn’t sleep too long. However, I knew when you woke up you would be starving because we didn’t get lunch.
As predicted you were starving and our timing was perfect. You wolfed down your pizza and then were going to go to Siesta Beach to catch sunset. I even packed your swimsuit. Somehow, when we wrapped up from dinner it was almost 7p & the sky was already turning. Sunset was 7:21p so we opted to go to Marina Jacks instead. We walked over to the fishing pier & Hart’s Landing. It was such a beautiful evening, perfect temperature, light breeze & gorgeous sky. It was the perfect end to a great day with you. Unfortunately, we picked up something in my tire & you were all worried about calling the “tow man” to come get us lol. We were able to drive home & you bossed Daddy the whole way about the tire and how to pay attention to if it was “coming off yet or not.” I was cracking up.
When we got home, we read some of your new books, did a few Lingos and we both fell asleep in your bed in no time.
I love you so much sweet girl!
