7/13/21 – Mommy Took The Day Off To Spend Time With Me!

You slept in this morning again (around 9a) and even missed Daddy before he left for work. When you came out of your room, you immediately wanted to get Treeko out. We were feeding him like 10 worms and Aunt Deb called. You put her on Face Call and showed her how you were feeding Treeko. We also spoke to Ms. Sandy on Face Call too.

We spoke to Daddy on Face Call with Daddy this morning. I was folding laundry and I overheard you told him “Mommy took the day off to spend time with me. She worked hard to do that!” That warmed my heart when I heard that. I love spending time with you and will always go out of my way to make sure we have as much quality time as possible. You played with Treeko until the last minute before we had to leave to head to my office. You were dressed, but before we left, you added 5 layers of shirts and 3 layers of shorts! I tried to tell you that would be too hot, but you insisted. I had a quick cash closing and you were coloring and watching Disney + in the conference room. It’s amazing how you are able to manipulate the mouse on my laptop and move around the screens and apps. It’s unbelievable especially considering that you don’t have a tablet or any real way to practice on a computer.

As soon as I finished, we headed to run by the lot to check progress (there was none since Sunday) and then we stopped for lunch. You wanted pizza, so we stopped at Joey Ds. We sat down but immediately you were uncomfortable. It was very full and there was music playing a little loudly. You didn’t like that and asked to leave so we did. Instead, we went to Cafe Epicure and had a wonderful time. I knew most of the wait staff so they all chatted you up. Of course you made lots of “I Love You” pages to hand out and they were all melting at how sweet you were. After lunch, we walked to the OfKors Bakery and you chose a “cherry bomb” cake that we shared. You went through several outfit changes and peeled off a few layers while we were out lol.

On the way back to the office, you were pretending in the car. You were making a phone call on the digital thermometer you brought from home and said “Hi this is Dr. Koontz. I love you. I need to talk to you later. I have an appointment.” I was cracking up laughing! We colored and you walked around the office making everyone write their name on a list. You told them all that you were making a list of people to invite to your birthday party next year!! Again, everyone was cracking up. You reluctantly allowed Christen to be added to the list lol.

Ms. Ida arrived for Spanish and you went running into the room to greet her. You now know the Spanish alphabet and you have learned so much during these two weeks by getting to practice 2 hours each day. On the way out after class, you, Hannah & Benjamin Berlin were being silly and giggling. You have had fun with them as well.

We headed home after class and Daddy beat us home! I made dinner while you and Daddy practiced writing on your dry erase boards. After dinner, we watched Luca with Treeko and you got to have some ice cream. When Aunt Deb called, you were excited to tell her the play by play of Treekos night lol. When the movie was over we headed to bed. You asked that we read the Pixar 5 minute stories book – the whole thing. I read the first 1 1/2 stories and then you gave me a kiss and said sweetly, “Mama, I’m going to close my eyes now, but please keep reading.” Five words later you were snoring. I finished the story just because I said I would, kissed you and admired you for a couple of minutes before I left. You are consistently going to sleep fairly easy and sleeping through the night in your room. It’s another stark reminder that you are growing and needing me less and less each day. While it’s nice that bedtime isn’t a struggle any more, I can’t believe how independent you are becoming and how fast time is going. I’m clinging to this summer time with you before real school starts. I know the pace is going to pick up the second you walk through the Bay Haven doors. On the other hand, I’m buckled up ready for the amazing ride we are about to embark upon.

I love you so much!
