You got up & dressed and came out in pants but had shorts on underneath your pants. You thought it was hilarious. You were ready early today and when we got to school you ran through the gate so fast you almost forgot your backpack!
When I picked you up, you climbed in the car and were hanging out the back window with your face in the air with a giant smile on your face. It was so sweet. You put my boxing gloves on and knew what they were for. You said “I know what you use these for… you hit that thing in the middle!” I said yes & I asked how you know that? You said “from squishy stuff videos.” On the drive home you said “Mama, you should surprise me tomorrow. Have Daddy pick me up as a surprise. Except I already know so it won’t be a surprise, but that’s ok.” I was cracking up. We stopped at Detweiler’s to get seafood (you tried to get a candy bar as we checked out) and met Daddy at home. He grilled you both steaks and I made clams and shrimp. You ate almost all my clams and thought it was funny!
After dinner, you played with Daddy on the stairs & read a bunch books. You snuggled in his arms, yawning, but insisted you weren’t tired. When I came in to put you to bed, you weren’t wanting to go to sleep. We struggled a little, but then you came to sit on me and rock in the chair for a few minutes. You asked me to show you a picture of you when you were born, then one each year after. It was nice to scroll through them with you. I just can’t get over how fast these five years have gone. You settled down quickly and we got back into bed. You were snoring in no time although it was close to 9:30p which is way too late now with school.
I love you so much!
