8/23/21 – You Can’t Move This Stuff

This morning, you went to your room to line up all your Steelers shirts, books & snow globes. You came to our bathroom to get Daddy & you asked him to come look at how you lined up all your Steelers stuff to help you get ready for school. He said “ awwww. That’s so nice! You don’t have to wear your jersey today, you can wait until Friday if you want.” Then you came back to get me. When I said “let’s make your bed ” you said “Mom! You can’t move this stuff, it’s special! And if you make the bed it could slip off!”

You were crying in the garage while Daddy was trying to leave for work. I got you to come to the front door to wave to him, but you were still so sad. I got you to come inside & you said “I’m not going to watch Disney+ today instead I’m going to watch a Steelers show.” I put the game on and sent Daddy a picture.

When you walked in to school you were happy. I texted Daddy to let him know and he was relieved. It’s hard to see you sad like that.
When I picked you up you climbed in and asked why Daddy didn’t pick you up. You asked if he was out of town again. I told you he cancelled his trip because he misses you and wanted to spend time with you!
We stopped at Whole Foods on way home. You weighed all the produce you chose. We talked about how to choose fruit. You picked up a nectarine but it had a moldy spot, so I showed it to you & you took it back and carefully selected another one. You chatted up some old people in produce and told them you are in Kindergarten at Bay Haven Manatees. At the check out you put all the groceries on the belt and were super chatty with the clerk. You held up the brownies and said “we got three of these. One for Mommy, one for me and one for Daddy! Oh my god! We forgot to get one for Harry! Just kidding dogs can’t have chocolate!” The cashier was cracking up and told me I need to get a YouTube channel to put all your shenanigans on because you are so funny!

We called Daddy on the way home because you wanted to talk to him. You said “Daddy, we got you a treat. It’s a surprise. It’s chocolate.” When we got home, you helped me prepare a baked ziti (& ate a bunch of my ricotta cheese lol). When I looked in your bookbag, I found your graded sight word test from last Friday. You got a 100%!! I was so excited and so proud of you. After dinner, we snuggled and watched about half of Meet the Robinsons before heading to bed to read & snuggle. You were out in 2 minutes!

I love you so much!
