4/11/22 – My Intestines Hurt

You didn’t want to get up this morning. When I finally got you up, you were slow to get dressed and saying “my intestines hurt. No my belly, my intestines. People think this is your belly (pointing to your belly) but actually your belly is up higher, under your lungs, behind your ribcage.” I asked you several times if you wanted to stay home from school, including on the drive to school, but you were worried you would miss the field trip later this week, so you said I’ll try to go. I assured you if you felt sick I would come get you. I texted Ms. Wolleon and let her know I didn’t think you were 100% & if I needed to come get you I would. I checked on you a few times during the day. She said you were feeling a little better shortly after drop off, but then later she said you were falling asleep during math and felt nauseous. I told her I would come get you immediately. When I got there you looked pathetic and I felt awful for even sending you. On the way home you asked to call Aunt Deb, Jackie, Grandma Noot, Daddy and Grandma Weezie to tell them you are sick. When we got home, you asked “am I allowed unlimited push pops?” I assured you that was fine. You fell asleep eating the first one. You slept for 2.5 hours then came to the living room & lounged in the chair until bed time. You literally didn’t move or eat all day. I was hoping you would perk up in the evening after the sleep like you usually do, but we were not so lucky. I’m sure you will have to stay home tomorrow. I ran to the condo to check the mail and caught the best sunset. I can’t wait to take you there next weekend and hopefully you will be feeling so much better!

I love you so much!
