This morning, Lisa went to yoga and on her way back she brought donuts and bagels for breakfast. She also saw some sparkly golden eggs glistening in the snow when she was pulling in the driveway. You & Rafe ran out to discover a huge golden egg with an LOL surprise in it! You were delighted!
We had breakfast then packed up to go Dog Sledding!!!!! In the car on the way you were writing in your journal and snacking. When we arrived we were at a cute little lodge and they took us over to the dogs on ATVs. As soon as you saw the dogs you ran up and hugged them all. Of course I bundled you up and you started shedding layers in no time!
This morning when you got up , we snuggled for a few minutes before heading downstairs to play. You wrote in your journal and we played with cars and animals. After lounging around the house for a while, we went outside to play in the snow. At first you went out in your pajamas then I convinced you to put your snow pants over your jammies lol. You made your first snowball today and we built a small snowman. You asked me to make footprints and handprints in the snow.
We went to TJ Maxx & you wanted to buy gifts for Rafe, Lisa & Baby O. You said “I love Olivia so much!” Rafe went snowboarding and when he got home he said “did Giovanna miss me today?” I about died lol! I couldn’t get you a spot in the snowboarding school today so we hung out at home. I’m glad we did as we were all still adjusting to the time zone, late travel and altitude. While we were rolling around in the snow, you climbed on top of me and kissed me and said “I love you so much Mommy!” I will never forget how I feel when you say I love you to me.
We headed to Hearth & Hill for dinner. You were drawing at the table and making a “P” out of paper and looked at me and said “Mom you’re perfect!” We played outside after dinner & you guys ate fudge bars and played in the snow. You played in your regular clothes and I had to really convince you to put on your boots and coat! You wee kneeling in the snow and didn’t care at all that it was cold and wet. You were absolutely over the moon. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to see you enjoy this so much! You & Rafe wanted to sleep in your bed. You wanted to play all 9 meditations on your turtle. I said yes, but you were both asleep before the end of the second one! Just like you do to me & Daddy you were snuggling Rafe almost out of the bed!!
This morning, the instant you woke up, you looked out the window in our bedroom and were fascinated by the snow. You insisted there were coyote tracks in our back yard. You were so excited and couldn’t wait to go outside and check it out.
We got dressed (well you put your ski coat over your pajamas lol) and went outside to take in the wonder of the winter wonderland you woke up to! The look on your face was absolutely priceless! When Rafe got up, you both got proper snow clothes on and had a heyday outside! You made a snow angel, picked icicles and at 10 pounds of snow. You rolled around in it laughing the purest laugh I have ever heard.
After breakfast, we headed to the park down the street from the Sessa’s house and went snow sledding. You were so excited to see Daddy and I go on the sleds too. You wanted us to drag you back up the hill and we disappointed when we got tired! You guys played on the playground and when we finished, we headed to Canyons Resort and rode the Cabriolet up the mountain to get snowboarding equipment for Rafe & Roman for tomorrow and to try one last time to get you into the snowboarding school. It’s been full since Lisa told me about it. Unfortunately, there wasn’t a spot, but we grabbed a hot cocoa and a smore to toast by the fire where we waited. We then headed to Loco Lizard for tacos for dinner. We went home, you guys played in the snow a little more, showered and then hit the bed early because you were tired from yesterday’s travels!
This morning, you woke up ready to go!! Today was your first flight since 2019! You were so very excited to head to Park City, Utah, with the Sessa’s as you have been BEGGING to see snow. We had lunch at Maggiano’s before heading to Tampa Airport. Unfortunately, our flight was delayed 2 hours, but you were a champ and played with your magnets and colored.
On the flight you were an angel too. You were absolutely fascinated at take off. Then, we played and snuggled and watched a little TV. You ate a million snacks and didn’t really need any of the toys I packed to surprise you with. You were so good. Around 9:30p our time, about an hour away from landing, you finally fell asleep, but you woke up 10 minutes later!!! I really couldn’t believe it.
You fell asleep in the car on the way from Salt Lake City to the Sessa’s house. It was midnight our time and you were running full throttle all day. I was actually glad you were so fast asleep when we arrived because you were so excited to see snow and I didn’t want that to keep you up and be your first experience with snow since you were so exhausted. I carried you in from the car sleeping, sat you on the toilet and you peed while still asleep. I put you in bed, kissed you and couldn’t wait to see your reaction tomorrow morning!
You came down to my room at 6:50a & said “I was dreaming about the the entire Koontz family! Harold, Hank, Mom & Dad – all of us were under a rainbow, on a rainbow and there was a pot of gold at the bottom!”
You told me “I know! I’ve been playing this game for years, since I was in your belly!”
daddy took you to school last day before spring break bc we are skipping tomorrow for a surprise!
picked you up from school and you asked if we could stop at the beach before going home. I said of course while we were there sitting on a bench talking arm in arm Rykan and her Mom showed up and you girls played.
a big rain storm was coming so we left after about an hour i took you home and you hung out with Grandma Noot while I got my hair done
went to Dim Sum King for “those things Ms Sandy showed me that I love” = steamed pork buns. Stopped to try a Crumbl Cookie after dinner. Grandma Noot called us and she had just gotten home. You told her how excited you were to try each flavor of cookie. She asked if you would bring her some and you said “oh my god. they are humongous. We will eat a bite of each but there’s no way we can eat the whole entire thing!” When we got home, we all danced to some Encanto Brain Breaks until it was time to read and head to bed.
