This morning we all went to tennis. The weather was noticeably cooler and your attention span was noticeably longer! You absolutely wilt in the heat. You had a great lesson and the sweetest thing was Coach was signing “Where the North Wind meets the sea” from Frozen 2 with you. It was adorable. You ran around with Rafe lizard hunting for about 15 minutes before we headed out to meet Chrissy & Olivia at fancy breakfast.
You were reading sight words in the books Chrissy brought. You shared your markers with Olivia and played nicely until our food came. We headed home after to do some lizard catching & you were successful. We showered together, snuggled & watched a little TV. Chrissy called when Olivia woke up and we headed to the house to show them around. You led the tour of course!
We went to Lido beach for dinner and sunset. You played in the sand and Chrissy buried you and Olivia together. I poured water on you but you guys broke free! We stopped at Kilwins for ice cream on the way home. You & Olivia took a bath together, had a snack and we all danced and sang songs. It was a school night, so they left around 9 and we headed to bed to read books. You didn’t last long and fell asleep curled up in my arm. We always get home too late & go to bed too late on beach nights, but it’s soooo worth it. I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.
Woke up at 8a. Climbed on top of me, kissed me and said “I love you Mom!” We got up and played animals then FT w ms Sandy. You measured the whole house playing with Daddy’s tape measure. You wrote out Lillie’s card and I wrapped her gifts.
We went to Lillie Ziegler’s 6th birthday party at an art studio. Several DDAYS kids were there. When Brooke Harris walked in, she hugged you and said “I missed you so much! How is kindergarten?” It was unicorn themed and you made a unicorn painting.
After the party, we went to the jewelry store to get a battery for my watch and you played with Ruby the dog.
met dad at lot after school. Went to see condo. Went back to lot. Daddy took you on roof yo to our room. Met Chiappones for dinner. Played and colored so nicely with Isabella. got 100 on sight word test so you earned another animal pair from Michael’s. Chose cows. it was farm week at school ms wolleon did white va chocolate milk challenge at school
Last night you came to my bed around 12:30a. You climbed in bed, said you were freezing, snuggled up with me and drifted right back off to sleep. You got up and got ready pretty quickly. We were on the road early and I surprised you with a donut stop. You were pretty excited about that.
Today was show & tell at school & it was your turn to bring the snack. For show & tell you brought an entire bag of animals, including your new snow tigers. Elizabeth Rice was walking up to school at the same time & she shouted “Hi Giovanna!!!” and gave you a huge hug. She offered to help you carry your stuff inside. When I picked you up you told me everyone loved your animals and the snack you brought!
We headed to gymnastics and stopped by Dr. Dan on the way. He gave you a quick adjustment and you asked him to do more! We stopped by Daddy’s office to say hi & steal candy. You were measuring and working hard! You did great at gymnastics, then we met Grandma Noot for dinner at Mi Pueblo.
Daddy went to man night after and we went with Grandma Noot to look at a condo on Lido Beach. I asked you if you liked the condo & you said “Yeah, it’s fine. Let’s buy it!” We headed home & went straight to bed. We listened to Frozen 2 soundtrack and you were snoring in 5 minutes.
You came to my room early – maybe around 5a, climbed in, snuggled up & went right back to sleep. Daddy went to wake you up and kiss you before he left. When I came to get you up again, I gave you kisses. You said “I didn’t get my kisses from Daddy yet!” I told you that you did, but you didn’t get up! You started looking for your new white tiger. I handed them to you because I brought them from your room earlier. Your face lit up!! You said “how did you know I wanted that Mama!?!?” We got your jobs done and jumped in the car to head to school. You sang & studied sight words in the car. I gave you the choice to drop off and walk up yourself or to walk up with me. You told me “I want to walk up with you so we can spend a few extra minutes with you!”
When I picked you up, we headed home to play and cook dinner. You bathed your lions and tigers in the sink. After dinner, you and Daddy played school and we worked a little more on your ABC vest. We ran to Target & sang the whole way there. We had to stay in the car to finish our last song. When we finished, you kissed me and said “thanks Mom, you’re the best!” This fills my heart every single time and we are on a roll recently!!!
This morning, I dropped you off in the car line because you wanted to exercise your independence and walk up to school without me. Ugh… another kick in the gut, but I’m happy to see your self-confidence growing daily. It also eliminates the opportunity for you to get upset when we separate at the gate. I pulled over out of traffic to watch you for just a minute more just to be sure you were ok & headed in the right direction. Letting go, even something as small as this, is really hard for me.
Daddy picked you up from school and you guys went to the house. You asked him why these walls are in the garage. You said “how are you going to park your car in here?” You came home and went lizard hunting (and met with success) while I made dinner.
After we finished, we went to Michael’s to get gems and supplies for your ABC vest. You of course wanted to get another Mama & Baby like Culver & Curtis the lions. You chose a white tiger set. As soon as we got home, you ran to show Daddy & said “wait til you see what I got! You’re gonna pee your pants!” You guys played for a little while until it was time to head to bed. We read some more Pixar 5 minute stories and this weeks reader from school. You rolled over, asked me to scratch your back and drifted off to sleep a few minutes after we stopped reading.
This morning, you slept until 8a. I came in to wake you up and you popped up in bed & shouted “Boo! I tricked you! I was awake and you didn’t know it!” You ran and got dressed & came back out to color. You were so excited to use your new coloring book and markers. In the car, we had to regroup during breakfast because you wanted to keep coloring. You recovered nicely & we practiced your sight words. We walked up to school, arms around each other and you said “Mom, you’re the best. I love you!” No G, YOU are the best!!!! I love you so much. What a wonderful day to start the day for both of us!!!!
I picked you up from school and you wanted to go straight home to color. BUT, Daddy had just gotten back in town so he got us a table at Ford’s Garage so we met him for an early dinner. You were so excited to see him! After dinner you played in the tub and then we started our ABC Fashion show vest project for Friday’s class Fashion Show! Conveniently, you got the letter G! We got a good start and made a list of supplies to get from Michael’s tomorrow. When I told you it was 8p so we needed to head to bed you wanted to keep working. We headed to bed for some Pixar 5 minute stories. I told you I needed to get some sleep in order to have the energy to go to Michael’s tomorrow. You immediately rolled over and went to sleep!!!
I had to wake you up this morning so we could go to tennis. You got up and dressed pretty quickly, considering how late you went to sleep the last few nights. You did great for about 30 minutes then you were hot and started to fizzle. We were getting ready to leave and then Coach got out his resistance bands & you enjoyed running with them and doing bicep curls!
After the lesson, you wanted to go to breakfast. Bianca was coming to visit so we called to check in on their ETA and they hadn’t left yet, so we went to Keke’s. We worked on your Puzzle Buzz books and you gave stickers to the server and bus boy. Eliza texted me as we were finishing and invited us to meet at Marina Jack’s park so you could play with Juniper. I don’t think you have seen her since your 4th birthday party. Neither of you remembered the other. She had a scooter and wouldn’t share, so the play date didn’t go as planned lol. You did the monkey bars by yourself like a champ (these are a little higher and a little longer than most) & you were quite proud of yourself. Just as things we unravelling, Becky & Bianca pulled into our driveway, so we headed home to meet them. On the walk out, you told me you don’t want to play with Juniper any more. Her Mom is a sweetheart, so I hate to hear it, but honestly, nothing has changed since the last time you guys played, so I wasn’t surprised.
When we got home, you & Bianca immediately started playing. You wanted to put on your Moana costume so we pulled out a Woody costume for Bianca. After playing for about an hour or so, we headed downtown to have lunch and do some bowling at Evie’s Tavern. We all had so much fun! You girls did way better than the Mamas! You even stayed warm by doing pushups between frames lol. You guys bickered a bit off and off, but ended the day with hugs and walking arms around each other. The only child syndrome is real with both of you lol!
We stopped at Whole Foods to grab stuff for lunch tomorrow and you found a pumpkin you had to have. We also stopped at Target to get you some fresh markers and coloring books for the car/restaurants.
We headed home and beat the rain which we were both really happy about. We Facetimed with Daddy & you let him know how much you are missing him. We colored together and then headed to my room to read Toy Story 5 minute stories. You drifted off to sleep quickly because you were beat! We had a nice easy going weekend because you needed it!
Even though you stayed up until 11p last night, you popped up in bed at 8a and said “it’s a beautiful morning Mama, get up!” We colored and sang songs then played Paw Patrol on my bed for a long time. Finally, you wanted pancakes for breakfast around 10:45a!
I showed you a video of you reading your “Eeek, Halloween” book in your car seat when you were about 2.5 years old. You put your hand on my arm and said “it’s ok Mom… you don’t have to cry! I wish I was still a baby too!”
Didn’t leave home all day until we dropped food to Grandma Weezie on our way to take fall photos at Siesta Beach. In the car you texted Daddy and said “Daddy, we are playing Believer. I wish you were here with me.” He sent us some photos & videos from Niagara Falls and you loved them! You were so excited to wear matching dresses today. When we got to the beach & met the photographer, the people before us got all the way in the water. I told her we were going to dinner after so we couldn’t get that wet. You still got pretty wet & then wanted to play tiger cub, so your hands, legs and even hair had sand all over which is impossible to get off. The photos should be worth it though!!!
We met Lisa & Rafe at Da Ru Ma for dinner. You enjoyed hanging with Rafe and it seemed like we were crashing your date!! You guys were so good in the restaurant and after chased each other and played outside before we left. When it was time to go you said “I don’t want to go home. There’s no kids and it’s boring!” However, once you got in the car, we sang the whole way home and then watched a few Dug shorts on Disney + in my bed. You were snoozing by 10.
