You woke up, got dressed & practiced sight words with Daddy during breakfast. You were not upset at all this morning. You hugged & kissed Daddy and told him to be safe and not drink too much beer before we left because he was flying to Buffalo for a football game. You marched right into school like nothing ever happened and I was relieved.
When I picked you up, you told me you missed “this” on your test today. A 90% is amazing & I let you know how proud of you I am. You made applesauce today and you were the most excited because Ms. Wolleon added brown sugar AND white sugar to the applesauce lol!
We headed over to pick up Grandma Weezie for dinner. We went to the Cheesecake Factory & you brought your entire art kit with you lol. After dinner, we went to check out the lot. You showed her around the house and wanted to explain where everything will be! You also explained that the half staircase from the garage to the first floor was so that I wouldn’t get too tired bringing groceries in. I was in stitches laughing so hard!
We dropped Grandma Weezie at home, you immediately got naked and we had movie night. I promised you that you could stay up as late as you wanted. We watched Raya & then Frozen 2. Because you had such a late night last night and a big day at school, I thought for sure you would fall asleep if we watched Frozen in my bed. Not a chance! When it was over you pushed for a 3rd movie and I said no…I told you it was after midnight (it was 11 but midnight is a big deal so…) so we turned off the TV and you were out in just a few minutes.
You got up around 8a and came out to the kitchen. I was making your lunch. You asked me to come to your room to snuggle for one minute, then play tiger cub for one minute, then brush teeth, then tiger cub for one minute. During breakfast we had a dance party and took turns picking songs. We sang and danced to Beach in Hawaii, Burning Love, Sweet Caroline, Brown Eyed Girl, My Girl and U Can’t Touch This. We danced, hugged and laughed. I love these mornings with you.
As we walked up to school, we were still dancing and singing U Can’t Touch This. You said you wanted to sing it to Ms. Wolleon. I told you she might be too young to know it so you should let her know it’s a song lol. I sent her a message in Class Dojo to give her a heads up so she wouldn’t think you were being disrespectful. Apple week continued and you guys learned about Johnny Appleseed today.
Daddy picked you up from school today because I had a 4p closing. He brought you to my office so you could have a snack. While you were there you found the Maui fish hook for Daddy’s Halloween costume and your Moana costume arrived. When I finished, he went to the gym and we went to Whole Foods to pick up stuff for dinner. You were so excited to try it on. In the Whole Foods parking lot you decided you wanted to go to the beach so you could walk barefoot like Moana. You were mad we couldn’t go home first and get your other Moana necklace and started to cry. You said “I can’t just be a random Moana at the beach with no necklace!” I explained that your costume came with a different necklace. You weren’t interested lol. Once you started to settle down (5-10 minutes later) you acquiesced to the new necklace and we headed to Lido. We stopped first for a slice of pizza at Rico’s on the circle. You showed the cashier your necklace and told her all about your costume, mine and Daddy’s. Everyone was cracking up ad thought you were adorable. After pizza, we had ice cream at Kilwins (more telling everyone about the costume) and then we headed to the beach.
At the beach, we walked up at the same time as another family. You ran up to their girls and wanted to make friends with them right away. You wanted to play with them in the water and they ended up sharing their googles with you. You really wanted to swim, so we ran back to the car to get some play clothes that you could swim in and a beach towel. We looked for seashells and you swam like a fish playing with a bunch of kids in the water. As the sun set, we headed home.
We sang and danced the whole drive home. You promised me you would jump in the shower as soon as we got home. Something happened when we walked in the door and you wanted to grab all your toys to bring in the shower. When I told you no, that we needed to get in and out and get to bed, you got really upset, cried and threw a huge fit. Then you shouted “my life is ruined and it’s all because of you!” I left you alone to cool down a little bit and then you called for me and asked me to help you wash your hair. I came to help you and you said “thank you Mama, you are the best.” I said “even though I ruined your life?” lol. You looked at me with your huge puppy dog eyes and said “I’m sorry Mama. I love you so much!” Your little voice, your hugs and your kisses fix any upset we have. We headed to the dining room, you hugged Daddy and we headed off to your room to read books. It was around 9p when we climbed in bed to snuggle and read. You were snoring in a few minutes wrapped in my arms.
This morning you had to return Brownie to class. You were sad because you enjoyed having him with us. You wrote in the journal about all the fun you had with him. Today, they closed the gate at school as we were walking up the sidewalk. You got a little scared, but we went through the office and you regrouped and were ok!
When I picked you up you told me how you learned about gravity in science today. You had a good day. You got a 100% on your first reader book test today. Ms. Wolleon sent home the second book with you today! This was the start of apple week and Ms. Wolleon made a volcano in apples. She posted a cool video on Class Dojo and you told me all about it when we were reading in bed.
I made dinner while you played and then we studied sight words for a little while. You wrote your words out then wrote Mommy & Daddy. You told us “now don’t fight over this”. I promised you we would share! Daddy brought the mail home and there was a surprise for you from Bianca! She mailed you Luca & Alberto toys that you were wanting from the pool last weekend! You were sooooo surprised and loved it!
I’m not sure what time you came to my room, but when I woke up just before 8a you were in bed with me. I had to wake you up and get you out the door quickly for tennis. You wanted to bring Brownie so we did. You did really good today, until something didn’t go your way and I heard from around the building you shouting “No” at Coach. I came around the corner and told you to pack up so we could go home. You started to cry and said No Mommy! I don’t want to go home! I asked you to apologize to Coach for talking back and you did. That was the end of any outbursts for the rest of your lesson! As we were leaving, Rafe was arriving and you showed him Brownie. He had a skeleton from the Halloween store that you were both excited about!
We headed home & Daddy made pancakes. I thought they were good, but you didn’t like them and asked me to make mine! My friend Erika Dine came over because she’s here for a little while from England. It’s been so long since you saw her that you didn’t remember who she was. You took the opportunity to take 8,000 stuffies to my bed & watched Dug shorts on Disney +. It was so funny because you never just sit and watch TV – but you were soaking it up like a guilty pleasure. Erika & I ran to Il Panificio to get pizza and you came out with your new Clemson outfit on that Grandma Weezie gave you. When we got home you were playing outside with Daddy & you guys were coloring and drawing pictures. I had dinner with Grandma Noot & Marina. Daddy & you played with balls, shooting, soccer, moving the basket etc. He said you had a blast and were laughing so hard the whole time. You went to bed good for him, but were still looking for me. You were sleeping when I got home, but came to my bed around midnight. I think it’s special that you want to be close to me.
You slept until 8a then came to my bed to snuggle. When you climbed in my bed you said “every time I wake up, no matter what time it is, I will always come to your bed.” I told you that you can always come to my bed, any time, no matter what. I love snuggling with you in the morning and at bedtime! We got up and you wanted to do your Frozen Legos, in your Elsa costume, with Elsa braid, wearing Elsa panties. We made pancakes & Marcela came over so we could all go furniture shopping for the new house.
We headed to St. Pete to go to El Dorado to shop for living room furniture. You have been very excited to be involved as we choose things for the house. We brought Browine the class pet along of course so he could join the fun too. You sat on all the couches, shopped for rugs and touched everything!!! You were trying to buy one of everything. You were sooo good considering we were there for about 2 hours and it’s pretty boring for a kid. I was so proud of you. We headed to lunch nearby and you were really great there too. The restaurant was short staffed, so they warned us it would be 30 minutes before we got our food. By the time we sat down it was already 2p. I had packed a PBJ just in case so you had that and some snacks. You ordered ribs and still tore them up when they came!
We headed home, dropped Marcela off, took a potty break and headed over to the lot to check progress. They were just about finished putting the upstais floor in. It’s really coming together. Daddy climbed a ladder to check out your room and you wanted to join him. I was nervous, but he let you. You were so excited this was the first time you got to stand in your room!!! We headed home to relax since we spent so much time running around and driving today.
At home, we watched a movie in my bed and you had a bunch of snacks. It was a nice relaxing evening. We headed to bed and read about 20 minutes of Dr. Seuss and you drifted off to sleep with your head on my shoulder.
You were slow to get up today after two later nights going to bed since Jackie was here. When you came to my room, Daddy was getting ready to leave. You walked him out to the garage and kissed him goodbye. You asked him if he could please pick you up from school today. How sweet.
While we were getting ready, Ms. Wolleon sent me a message in Class Dojo that said that you bit someone at recess yesterday. I told her you have never done that. I asked you about it and you said you did it because the girl was being mean to a baby caterpillar and there was nothing else you could do. We talked about it and what other choices you have. We agreed that a good idea would be to make an I’m sorry card to give to the girl. You didn’t know who she was so I messaged Ms. Wolleon and she knew who it was and said she would let you deliver it.
Daddy picked you up & I met you guys at home. Daddy called me on my way and you were crying hard in the background. You earned a lollipop at school (you clipped up to pink – the highest level – and earned another Manny!) and you swallowed a sharp piece. You were asking for me, pointing to my picture in the living room. You guys called me and you were crying and said “I can’t eat or drink or swallow!” I told you to do some deep breathing and to calm down. Two minutes later, Daddy texted me and said your pain was all gone & you were hungry lol.
When I got home, we made pizza. You were excited to show me all your stuff from school today. You got another 100% on your sight words test & you got to bring home “Brownie” the class pet for the weekend. Grandma Noot came over & you showed her everything too. We had dessert and watched Frozen. You wore both your Elsa & Anna braids & of course no clothes lol. We headed to bed after the movie. Although you claimed not to be tired, we listened to a short story version of Princess & Frog. You were out in 10 minutes.
This morning, you came into the bathroom when you got up and told me all about your dream where a pumpkin came to life. You confidently went into school for what I was hoping would be a great day!
When I picked you up, we went home to change. You wanted to be naked for a little bit and play before we had to pick Jackie up for dinner. Daddy & his customer met us for dinner too. We beat them there and when you saw Daddy walking up the street toward us you ran to give him the biggest hug ever. It was so sweet. We were just about to paint your nails before Jackie said she was ready, so you wanted to bring the polish with us. We did and painted your nails after we ordered. You were excellent through dinner.
When we got in the car to head home, Jackie tried to help you buckle your seatbelt. You said “I don’t need any help. I’ve been doing this for years.” We were cracking up. I feel like everything you’ve said this week has been at least this funny – you’ve been on fire! When we got home, we got ready for bed and read books. You were out in no time.
You were excited about the basketball book you checked out of the library & you brought your sight words workbook from home as well. At the entrance, we saw Ellie & Michea. You all held hands & walked in together. You showed Ms. Wood your workbook and she was super excited about it. You girls walked in together and looked so cute.
When I picked you up, you asked me if I knew that a Chrysanthemum is a flower because Ms. Wolleon read a book called Chrysanthemum today. She posted a photo of the letters in each students name because of the book. You were so excited about it!
After school, we went home & Marina, Jackie & Grandma Noot came over. Daddy had dinner with his customer who was in town. We headed to Selva for dinner and you came with us. You were really good and ate great. I’m just so proud of you. You loved all the desserts!! We didn’t leave until 9p…we immediately headed to bed when we got home.
