When we got to school, you ran up to the gate to tell Ms. Ida all about the zoo field trip. This morning, I had to meet the builder at the lot.
Daddy had to go to dinner with a customer, so I picked you up from Spanish (you ran up to me, gave me a huge hug & then said “eres tu mi mama?”) and we went to check on the progress on the lot. You were picking up rebar and carrying it around. It was hilarious. The guys were still working so we couldn’t go up on the lot so we just looked from the sidewalk.
You wanted cheese pizza so we went downtown and stopped at La Mucca Ballerina. The owner is my client and is from Rome. He was talking with us in Italian. You kept wanted to say vaca instead of mucca. You were quite popular with everyone there and

You and Daddy slept in this morning as the week finally caught up with you both. Harry was even in bed snoring with you two! Coack Killigrew cancelled tennis due to storms so we didn’t have to get going either morning this weekend which was nice! We made chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast and then played and snuggled on the couch. It rained literally all day so it was nice to just be lazy and relax. We watched a couple secrets of the zoo episodes which you love. You never even got dressed until 2:45 when we had to leave to go to Marcela’s for a fry party. We went home around 7, watched more zoo episodes and headed to bed so we are well rested for the Discovery Days Zoo field trip!
Woke up around 8am despite going to bed so late. I was outside sitting on the lanai and you came out to tell me good morning. I couldn’t believe you were up so early. I made pancakes and hashbrowns for breakfast. You ate but commented that you didn’t get enough sleep. After breakfast you asked to take your animals to the bath (of course first confirming that you wouldn’t have to wash your hair lol). You were in the tub for at least an hour and I only got you out when I told you we were going to be late to Rafe Sessa’s birthday party starting at noon! You jumped right out and we got moving!
You were so excited to see a bounce house and a water slide when we got there. You played soooo hard and had so much fun on the slides and in the pool. Just as we were ready to leave you were all the sudden hungry again, so you ate and we stayed a little longer. You were all over their dogs! On the drive home I was afraid you might fall asleep even though it was short, because you were soooo tired, but it was 5:30p, too late to snooze. You stared out the window like a zombie but didn’t sleep.
When we got home you jumped back in the bathtub and played for over an hour again! I kept offering you some dinner, but you said you ate enough at the party and weren’t hungry. When I offered “toast breads” you jumped out immediately and got so excited to have toast with jelly for dinner! You were excited because Ms. Sandy had just brought some huckleberry jelly from Montana for you and you love it so much! You aksed me to spread the jelly on your toast because “I’m not going to use my spoon because last time I did and it was all gone!”
I said you must be exhausted after playing so hard and you said “I never get exhausted! I don’t ever want to sleep!” After we ate, we put on some Behind the Zoo show on Disney+ and I thought you would fall asleep early on the couch. We watched two episodes and by the time we were finished it was 10p! We turned off the tv and went to my bed as all three of us were tired from yesterday. You fell asleep fast and hard. What a fun day!
On the way to school you were telling me how much you love me. Lately you like to say up to space, to mars etc. all the way to your heart. Today it was percents…. 100 thousand percent percent!” Immediately after professing your atmospheric love for me you told me (this has been a conversation you keep having in the car) that when you are 16 you are going to need a phone and a car so you can talk to me but you won’t be able to live with me any more lol. I have NO idea where this came from!
Jackie stayed again tonight. We made pizza, had a chocolate and wine pairing (which you LOVED), watched inside out then played a big game of guess the animal in your hand w your eyes closed. Didn’t go to bed until 1215!!
