10/1/20 – Donut With Stars

You came to my room, took off your night pants (I didn’t know they were dry until I showered) and asked to go me to go back you your room with you around 4 am. I did & I let you sleep the rest of the night with no night pants and you woke up dry!! We both fell back to sleep quickly.

The last two mornings have been nice and much cooler. When you came to my room you were dressed warm bc it’s so cold. You said “look at my shirt Mama. Long sleeves because its cold and hot fuzzy socks!” I tried to get you to change your socks or at least pack an extra pair, but you weren’t hearing it lol!

When we left for school you wanted to get a donut so we stopped at Dunkin Donuts. You ordered your donut asking for “vanilla donut with stars please” which translates to a glazed donut with vanilla frosting and sprinkles. On the walk back to the car, you were freezing and walking rubbing your arms to warm up lol. Little Florida weenie! I have no idea how because you are always hot!

You wolfed your donut down & wanted to call Grandma Noot on Facecall. We talked to her the rest of the way to school and she was super excited that you had a donut!

You did great at gymnastics. Daddy brought you home & you were excited to see that I bought rambutans and star fruit at the store today. You had a bunch right before Chrissy & O came for dinner.

After tons of playing, dumping out all the golf balls & jumping on the couch, you & O took a bath. Since Daddy was at man night, you wanted to go to bed in my room. We did some Lingos and we were both asleep in about 15 minutes!

I love you so much!

9/30/20 – God Made The Rocks

When you got up this morning, I asked you to help me make the bed. You replied “I will go make my bed. You make yours.” I reminded you that you slept in my bed last night, so you didn’t need to make your bed this morning, so you should help me make mine. You acquiesced & helped, although you let me know how annoying it is that I have so many pillows on my bed & they are heavy. PS you also have a hundred pillows on your bed lol.

You waved bye to Daddy at the garage & then we packed up & headed out to school. You asked to Facecall Grandma Noot in the car. You told her she’s not old you’re new!

As school, we were headed to the gate and you said, “wait Mama, we have to go take my picture on my rock!” Then you told me, “God made the rocks and now they are my picture spaces.” You found a golf ball in the school parking lot, grabbed it & told me to have Daddy wash it.

You had a great day at school, then did another craft project with Ms. Sandy. She brought you to my office at the end of the day so Billy Elkins could take our passport photos. As soon as you came in, you couldn’t wait to tell me that you were drawing a “K” today & wanted to show me how to draw an “air K”. While you waited for me, you were drawing K’s at my desk. As soon as we finished, we went to Wicked Cantina & met Daddy & Grandma Noot there. When she arrived you ran and jumped in her arms to give her a hug! You went up to the hostess stand and asked for a table for four outside. When we went to be seated, there was a dog sitting at the next table. It was a super cute Boxer & you were all over her. She kept giving you kisses and you were giggling so hard.

You wanted to ride home with Daddy. He carried you through the parking lot upside-down and your giggles were priceless. He rolled down the window & you told me you were going to smoke me and beat me home! You did…I finished talking to Grandma Noot. When I got home, you & Daddy were out walking the block with Ms. Moe, Jack Daniels & Kory. Daddy said you were super chatty with everyone and ran the conversation. You asked if you could hold hands with Ms. Moe & you were telling everyone about your day. He said they were all amazed at how you are conversating like a grown up and especially Kory was like how is she 4?!?!

You guys got home at the same time I did. We headed to your room to read & do Lingos. You of course had “energy” so you were wiggly & took a while to fall asleep. But eventually, you drifted off to sleep peacefully.

I love you so much!

9/29/20- Trying To Keep It Moony!

You came to my room during the night, but I didn’t even hear you. You woke up around 6a and asked if we could go back to your room. We did. You didn’t go back to sleep because “I have energy!” We snuggled in your bed & read Good Night Grand Canyon. When you saw the sunrise you said “the sun is coming up but the clouds are trying to keep it moony.” We got up and I went to shower. You told me you would stay and get ready saying “I’m gonna lock the door to have privacy and get dressed.” You…. You need privacy, but you were in the driveway in panties last night when you were saying goodbye to Ms. Sandy. lol. You did a great job making your bed this morning. You are always such a good helper. Happy to help unload the dishwasher or fold laundry. We just listed our house for sale & you have been great about keeping the house clean because it is for sale.

When I got home from work, you wanted to “draw eyes, smiley face & hair on our pumpkin.” You asked last night to do it & I told you we would today. However, as Ms. Sandy was getting ready to leave, you ran out on the front porch with out us. When you came back in she told you no pumpkin because you know you aren’t supposed to go outside without permission so we can keep you safe. You apologized but understood. You told me “Mama, my eyes need to see your eyes” to make sure you are safe. I always tell you that at the park so that we know we are on the same page. You helped me make dinner, then we played. We couldn’t go for a walk because it was pouring rain.

You wanted to go to my room to watch a little TV & go to bed. You wanted to sleep in my room so bad! I went in with you, we watched about 15 minutes of TV, read your Spanish book & you were out in no time. When Daddy & I came to bed later, you were laying sideways, hogging the whole bed lol. When I climbed in bed, you scooted right in to me and hugged me tight.

I love you so much!

9/28/20 – One More Minute!

Daddy had to take both of us this morning because of my flat tire.

When I got home, you of course wanted a snack, so I pulled some frozen cherries out of the freezer & you were so excited to have them. However, you spilled some on your shirt. You immediately took the opportunity to take your dirty shirt off & then run around nakie. We had crab cakes & you loved them! You ate 2!

After dinner, we played in your tents. Daddy turned off all the lights & put flashlights in the tents. You thought that was pretty awesome! Then, you wanted to ride bikes. I told you you needed to get dressed, so you put on your gymnastics leotard. You told me “that’s a great idea wasn’t it Mom!” We stopped at the mailbox. Daddy handed you the mail & you said “junk mail again!!” When we got back, you wanted to have popping corn and watch some of a movie. We watched the rest of Toy Story 2.

You brushed teeth, peed & ran to your room to put jammies on. I tried to come in & you said “not yet Mama. I’m still trying to surprise you! One more minute!” When you opened the door you had a nightgown on. You ran out to show daddy because you were so proud of yourself! You were out after a few stories and a Kids Lingo!

I love you so much!

9/27/20 – Kitchen, Flashlights & Tow Trucks!

Last night, you slept in your bed all night. You woke up around 8a & shut and locked your door so you could get dressed. We played a little in your room then made French toast for breakfast. You took a bath then sent Ms. Sandy a million voice messages. You love to do that. It’s always so sweet bc you tell her “I love you so much Ms. Sandy. You’ll always be my nanny!”

You played kitchen & flashlights.

The “tow man” came to get my car from flat tire last night. You chatted with him, of course, then sat in the driveway and watched him load my car. Just as he left, Daddy pulled in the driveway from running his errands. You excitedly described exactly what just happened to him!

You & I were playing playdough in your playroom when Grandma Noot called to see if we would go to lunch with her. You ran to put a fancy dress on and we did you hair with lots of bows. When she arrived, you ran out to show her your beautiful dress. We went to Columbia on the Circle, walked around looking for “kids jewelry” and she bought you a mermaid stuffy. We stopped at Kilwin’s for ice cream then headed home.

You got nakie then dressed again to go to Whole Foods with me. You ordered “2 cod fish fillets please” from the fishmonger. Everyone at Whole Foods, the cashier, bagger & shoppers in the parking lot stop to talk to you. As we were walking to the car you were pushing the cart and although it was heavy, you insisted on having no help. You really did a great job. As we were about to unload our cart, there was a car driving by to park on the other side of us. You threw your hands up to keep me safe and waved the car by. The couple got out and assured you that we were safe and they saw us…lol. They own a jewelry company & gave you a pearl necklace & stopped to chat. You are a very strong magnet & everyone is drawn to you. It’s remarkable to watch.

We went home, made dinner, played with your dollhouse, had melon & starfruit snacks & watched some of Toy Story 2. Then, we agreed we would head to your room at 8:30p. You set the timer on Alexa and when it went off, you happily kissed Daddy & trotted down the hall to your room. We read 3 books and you were out in 15 minutes, snuggling with the new mermaid Grandma Noot bought for you.

I love you so much!

9/26/20 – I Need To Make A Baposit

You slept through the night last night in your room. You came running to our room around 7am, already dressed for the day in shorts & a T-shirt. I asked you if you were going to wear a leotard to gymnastics today & you told me you forgot about gymnastics, but you weren’t interested in changing lol! You climbed in bed and snuggled with us for a few minutes.

You were incredible today in class. You were climbing on the high balance beams alone & showing no fear & great balance. Coach Lexi also took you guys in the back on the really high bars over the foam pit. You hung from the bar and swung by yourself, giggling when you dropped into the pit. The other kids were all scared, but not you!!!! Of course, you enjoyed chasing Baby Olivia around the floor, under the parachute & you even tried to do “crab people” with her! You were telling Veda, one of the girls in your class, that Olivia is a baby and doesn’t know so she needed to be careful with her. Chrissy was cracking up ad said you sounded just like me telling you to be careful with her!!! I frequently hear you parroting back what you hear me say… I hope that carries through and helps you when it’s time to make tough choices in your life. You are so kind and compassionate, and very worried about others. I hope you maintain that. It’s one of the most beautiful things about you!

After gymnastics, you wanted to go to the Farmer’s Market rather than fancy breakfast. Chrissy & Olivia joined us and you were protectively walking next to her, holding her hand and guiding her through the foot traffic! You insisted that we parked on the top level of the parking garage like we did last Saturday. You loved to be able to “see the whole city” from so high up. We had empanadas and you got to play with some kids as well. Of course, you pet 8,000 puppies too! Olivia was sleepy so we left.

We went home so Daddy could do some touch up painting since we listed our house for sale. He was driving your around the living room in his office chair before he got busy. I didn’t want you to be around while he was painting so we ran some errands.

Due to COVID, the bank branch lobbies were closed for quite some time. You had a bag full of paper money and checks laying around, so we took it to the bank so you could deposit it. I try to have you do it so you can participate, rather than using an ATM. You confidently walked up to the teller to conduct your transaction. You told him “I need to make a baposit (deposit) please.” He and the lady next to him were immediately impressed with how you carried yourself. You told him your name & how to spell it. He told you his name is Luis. He started to ask how old you are & before he could finish, you put up four fingers and stated “Four. I’m Four Years Old.”

We left the bank & headed to Aunt Debs to drop off a few things. You were in love with Broadway & he gave your thousands of puppy kisses. He chased you and you had so much fun throwing sticks for him to chew. You were laughing saying “he’s just like Captain” because Captain chases anything you throw him as well. Fed had a break from his classes, so you ended up scamming a nakie swim session. He made a slide out of an upside-down paddle board. You eagerly went down and even went head first once he showed you. You LITERALLY have NO fear!

You & Fed sang songs & had ice cream bars when you got out of the pool. Uncle Dali gave you a fish bowl & some stones. You were so excited you wanted to go home immediately and put a fish in it. I told you we needed to work together to decide what you could do to earn a fish. Then, you said we just put water on the stones and wait a few minutes & they turn into fish! lol. We had to go because it was getting late & Fed had a class to get ready for.

All that swimming wore you out. I asked you if you wanted to stop to get some books at the Goodwill bookstore. You have been in search of some small Toy Story Board books. You tried to get everything in the kids section, but we settled on about 6 or 7. We were headed to Whole Foods to get stuff to make pizza, and about 45 seconds into our drive, you were snoring. SO, we went home, picked up Daddy & went to Origin for pizzza. You slept right up until we parked. Although it was a little late (5-6p) you didn’t sleep too long. However, I knew when you woke up you would be starving because we didn’t get lunch.

As predicted you were starving and our timing was perfect. You wolfed down your pizza and then were going to go to Siesta Beach to catch sunset. I even packed your swimsuit. Somehow, when we wrapped up from dinner it was almost 7p & the sky was already turning. Sunset was 7:21p so we opted to go to Marina Jacks instead. We walked over to the fishing pier & Hart’s Landing. It was such a beautiful evening, perfect temperature, light breeze & gorgeous sky. It was the perfect end to a great day with you. Unfortunately, we picked up something in my tire & you were all worried about calling the “tow man” to come get us lol. We were able to drive home & you bossed Daddy the whole way about the tire and how to pay attention to if it was “coming off yet or not.” I was cracking up.

When we got home, we read some of your new books, did a few Lingos and we both fell asleep in your bed in no time.

I love you so much sweet girl!

9/25/20 – Neck Massage Please!

Dressed yourself for school & were all ready to go. Then, you tried to fill up your water bottle from the refrigerator & got your shirt all wet so you went to change. We talked to Jackie almost the entire drive to school. You kept scolded her for forgetting to bring Baby Will when she came down here last lol.

You insisted on standing on your “new big rock” at school for pictures. You also made me take one, then you would rotate 90 degrees and I would have to take another, until you made it full circle. I was cracking up laughing.

Ms. Sandy stayed late with you so we could go to parent open house at school. She said you had a good day at school, but you were complaining of a little upset stomach, at school & at home. So you had a chill afternoon. You melted some old broken crayons into some new crayon cupcakes, ate soup for dinner & took some charcoal and watched some TV. Ms. Sandy sent us a video and you told us all about how you were feeling better & you said “I love you Mom & Dad. I hope you have a good night seeing my teachers!”

Ms. Noelle had nothing but fabulous things to say about you. You are confident and strong, a good leader and a good friend. Very concerned for the other kids and ridiculously smart. She is certain you will be ready for Kindergarten and will thrive on your way there! When I saw your portfolio and the sample of your work around the classroom I couldn’t help but get emotional. Then I read your “I’m happy when” statement and I was shedding tears. I love you so much. I hope someday you truly understand what you mean to me and how rich you have made my life.

When we got home, you were so excited to show us your cars you made. Grandma Weezie came over to have crab cakes that she sent us from Baltimore. You were so excited to see her when she arrived. Even though you already had soup, you still enjoyed a crab cake with us. You were chatty and telling Grandma Weezie all sorts of stories. You plopped down on the couch and asked Daddy for a neck massage. You even told him, “Mommy never gets a neck massage, but I do!”

We headed off to your room for books & Lingos. You snuggled up with me and dozed off. I can’t say enough how much I love bedtime with you.

I love you so much!!!!

9/24/20 – This Is Terrible!

This morning, you were still sleeping in your bed, so Daddy went in to wake you up. You were sleeping completely sideways. You came out dressed & ready to go, but you in were in your gymnastics leotard! You told me you were wearing it because you have gymnastics tonight. It took some convincing, but you finally went & changed. When Ms. Sandy picked you up, you told her that you wore it for a minute this morning!

You made your bed all by yourself & lined up all your rain boots. You did such a great job! You insisted on wearing your new sneakers that are about 2 sizes too big. You told me the heel is fine, but your toes don’t touch the front. lol. Silly Goose.

Last night, in bed, you asked to hear Wake Up Everybody, which has returned as a recent favorite of yours. After it was over, Just the Two of Us by Will Smith came on. You told me you thought it was a great song! This morning on the way to school, you asked me to play “that song.” I asked if you were talking about Just the Two of Us? You said yes, so I put it on. You wrinkled your nose & said “this is terrible. The song is great but this singer is just terrible!”

After school, Daddy met you at gymnastics. We all got home at the same time. I made shrimp stir fry & you helped me cook for a minute. You tore it up!!! Daddy went to man night & Chrissy & Olivia came over. You had fun playing with her and then you asked if you guys could take a bath together. After that, we went to your room to read stories to the two of you, but instead it turned into seat drops and trampoline jumping on your bed!!! When they left, we read, did kids lingos and Italian Lingos, listened to music, then you just drifted off to sleep.

I love you so much!

9/23/20 – I Really Needed The Rest!

You slept in & Daddy had to wake you up with tickles. When you finally got up, you ran & locked yourself in your room so you could get dressed. You told me not to come in until you were dressed.

You sat down on the couch with Daddy and told him that you like the news & wanted to watch it. We both laughed out loud about that. You usually laugh at him for watching the news.

You insisted on bringing your baby to school. Then you were mad when you got home and the baby wasn’t there.

You had a great day at school. When you got home, Ms. Sandy helped you build your cars project from your latest Kiwi Crate. You told her you want to be a Dr. when you grow up so you can hold a girl baby and take care of her. “I want to be a Mama Doctor” is what you told her!

When I got home from work, I told you Chrissy & Baby Olivia invited us for dinner at Mi Pueblo. I needed to pick up my credit card, which I left there last week when we took Jackie. You think it is crazy that I forgot it & you have told everyone we have talked to lol! On the way, I asked what your favorite part of today was. You replied, “my favorite part of today was nap time because I really needed the rest!” I about died….I never expected that to be your answer lol! At one point you were really upset because you didn’t want to stay and eat, you wanted to go to Benderson park to swing your baby doll on the swings. I completely forgot that last night, after dinner you wanted to go to the park & I told you it was too late, but I promised you we would go right after work & have a picnic at the park. You wanted to run in & get my credit card and leave without eating! Once you saw Olivia, you got happy again.

When the waitress came, you ordered your dinner and said “I’ll have the quesadilla please. I’ll have rice please but no spicy! I don’t like spicy!” You just seem so much older than you are in situations like this. I love it. I love you. You are remarkable.

As promised, we stopped at Benderson on the way home and you got to swing your baby. You made friends with a little girl who caught a tiny lizard & she let you hold him. You were not happy when we couldn’t bring him home! This was the first time we have been to the park since everything closed in March for COVID. You had so much fun playing and running. It felt great to be there. Of course as soon as the sunset, the bugs came out & then the lights went out so we had to go.

You served us groceries when we got home. You told Daddy you were Chef Giovanna and you mixed up all your ingredients. You said “Probably it’s gonna be a little spicy but not so much. It’s roseberry coffee with marshmallows mixed up with mashed potatoes.” You then asked me 4 times to make you a peanut butter & jelly sandwich. I kept saying no, but then you ate cheese, a bar and you were still asking, so I made one. I thought there was no way you were hungry but you wolfed it down!

Then you read books to Harold and we went to your room to go to bed. We read, did Lingos and listed to music. This was another fabulous day with you my love.

I love you so much!

9/22/20 – Unicorn Dresses

You slept in your bed all night. Daddy wanted to wake you and you were laying sideways. He started making Hei Hei rooster noises trying to get you up. You were half laughing and half annoyed and kept pulling the covers back up to your neck! When you got up, you came to my room, dressed & ready to roll. You even made your bed all by yourself! We did your hair & you put your own hairbows in. I’m pretty sure you wore 4 on each side.

You insisted on taking pictures at all the rocks when we got to school. I was cracking up at your photo shoot! At the gate, Ms. Amber immediately noticed & complimented you on your bows. You proudly told her that you did them yourself and that you made your bed yourself!

After work, Chrissy brought Olivia over and we made dinner. As soon as you saw Olivia’s unicorn dress, you immediately ran to your room to put your matching dress on. You played and had so much fun with her. When they left, you got out your bike and we walked the neighborhood. Jack Daniels even tried to ride your bike!

We headed inside for books, Lingos & bed!

I love you so much!
