8/2/20 – Perfect For A Little Child…

This morning, we both slept in a little later than usual… We woke up around 8am and you rubbed my hair and said “Good morning Mama! Did you sleep good?” Of course, how could I not, with you by my side! You ran to your room and came back to mine, dressed in your AAA-CPA t-shirt, panties, Frozen dress-up shoes & your flamingo hat! We got up and you helped me make breakfast. You asked for pancakes with syrup (Thanks to Chrissy for introducing syrup to you last weekend at the sleepover lol!) and bacon.

After we ate, we got dressed & headed out to look at some houses to get ideas for our new house. You wanted to wear a fancy dress because we were going to look at fancy houses. You are very aware and excited that we are building a new house. You ask almost every weekend if the house is done yet… we haven’t even received the permit yet! You were so good going through the houses. Of course, you struck up conversation with each Realtor in each property. One that we went in was very European and had a low white leather couch. You were were commenting that “the table is white, the couch is white and this couch is perfect for a little child to sit on!” I about died laughing. When we left that house, you were getting a little hyper and lost your listening ears. We were headed back home & I wanted to stop at one more house. Daddy stayed in the car with you. You told him you wanted to go in and see the house. “I promise I will be a good girl” you said. He said no, you said that before we went into the last house, but you didn’t listen. You were sad, but snoring about a minute later. You ended up napping in the car for 2 hours! While you slept we ran errands. When you woke up (around 5:30!!), I asked you finished which house was your favorite. You said “all the ones that have stairs, those are all cool!”

We made dinner and played checkers (a new fav!). I was worried about you going to sleep because of the long, late nap. We headed to your room around 8p to read books and settle down. Tomorrow is your first day of school so I don’t want you to be tired! We read 5 books – Ferdinand the Bull is tops on your list right now – then played music while I scratched your back. Every time I thought you were asleep, you would squirm. It was about 10p before you finally fell asleep. I gave you about a hundred kisses before leaving your room. I can’t believe a new school year starts tomorrow!

I love you so much!

8/1/20 – Trees Don’t Have Seatbelts

You went to bed so late last night (11p) that you didn’t want to get up to go to gymnastics. I woke you about around 8:20a and got you dressed and ready pretty quickly. You went to the bathroom to do your jobs…You ate your oatmeal in the car. On the way, your imagination was running wild. You were telling me about how there are meteors and that they things are kinda like Earth. You also told me about how school buses don’t have seatbelts, and neither do trees or signs or sidewalks lol.

We arrived at Evo at the same time as Charlotte. You were so excited to see her. There were a few more kids there today, so you both listened to Coach much better. You did a very good job – you almost did handstand! You held yourself up on the parallel bars with strong arms several times. You worked hard and had so much fun.

I had a hair appointment and was going to take you home to hang out with Daddy. When you found out I was going to the salon, you wanted to come! I wasn’t prepared for that, so we went to Whole Foods to get some snacks for the salon and for the boat when we finished. You wanted to go to the farmers market. You ate your muffin when we got to the salon then Brandy offered to wash and braid your hair. You were so happy about it. You looked so big with your feet hanging off the chair at the wash station.

We stopped by my office to sign a few things and say hi to Romo. We picked up sandwiches at Corkscrew Deli then met Daddy and the Chiappone’s on the boat. We had lunch then went swimming. You fell asleep on me for an hour & a half!!! I will take it, I am keenly aware there are a finite number of time remaining in my life where this will happen. I’m hanging on tight, because I will miss this stage terribly. When you woke up, you immediately jumped in the water to swim! Pam found a sand dollar and you were curious about holding it.

After swimming for a while, we docked at the Boathouse to grab dinner. We went to potty and wash hands before our food came. All of a sudden, half way through dinner, you wanted to go back to the bathroom. I thought you were just messing around. But, you pooped and told me “it was big big big big big big!” You were laughing hysterically about it lol. You really enjoyed playing mermaids and Frozen cars with Isabella.

On the way home we stopped for ice cream at a new place, Ann Marie’s Southern Cream. It was in Pine Crest so there was a lot of Amish Furniture outside. There was a cute kids picnic table and of course you chose the rocking chair. They also had out a set of checkers, so we played. You thanked the workers on the way to leave and they thought it was so sweet, they gave you another sample ice cream! You told me in the car this is why you wanted to ride with me and not Daddy lol.

We showered together when we got home. We all played with your farm animals in the toy room then you & I headed to bed to read books. We read 4 and then I’m pretty sure we fell asleep together. It was a long, fun day!

I love you so much!

7/31/20 – Golf Ballers

You were still sleeping when I left. I gave you kisses on your forehead and your back.
Ms. Sandy took you for burgers and ice cream to celebrate last day of summer break. When you got home, you guys had a water balloon fight! That was your first one and you loved it! You got her soaked and had a blast doing it!

You napped on my bed because you played soooo hard!

When I got home, I asked you “G, where did you get all these golf balls?” You replied, “from Ms. Sandy.” I asked, “where did she get them?” You said, “from the golf ballers who leave them in the back yard. There are lots of colors. They are very pretty so she brings them to me!”

You came out and watered the plants with me. You told me you “get to watch a movie tonight because you took an hour and a half and 20 90 nap!” You also scammed me allowing us to make peanut butter cookies. You watched the thunderstorm outside with Daddy.

You napped reallllly late, so between that, the cookies & the movie, you went to bed at 11! I know you aren’t going to want to get up tomorrow morning for gymnastics!

I love you so much!

7/30/20 – Make Sure You Show Romo!

Ms. Sandy texted me a video of you signing happy birthday to Romo. You told her to tell me “make sure you show Romo, Mama!”

You got to have one last picnic at Bird Key park with Ms. Sandy before school starts again next week. You guys came to visit me at the office after your picnic. You brought Romo two shells as a birthday gift. It was so fun to have you there for a little bit…you make my day!!!!

You played bubbles before getting ready for gymnastics! You & Daddy called me and then Grandma Koontz on the way home. I beat you guys home, so I had dinner waiting for you when you arrived. You told me all about your class & how you were a much better listener today for Coach Nickie.

After dinner, you were riding your scooter in the house and we played before taking Daddy to man night. On the way home, we stopped by & visited Grandma Weezie for a bit. When we got home we read books and snuggled. I scratched your back and you were snoring in no time!

I love you so much!

7/29/20 – Lizards!

This morning, you slept in because you were up in the middle of the night partying! I hate leaving for work without seeing you, but I had an early closing so I had to go.

Ms. Sandy took you swimming at her house today. You were so excited to get to use your new rainbow float in the pool. You had pizza for lunch & got to have so much fun!

When Daddy got home he made pizza too! When I got home, you & Daddy were taking Harry around the block & you were on your bike. I wasn’t even out of the car & you raced to get me & insisted I get on my bike right away! Of course I did. When we were riding, we saw the neighbor boys, who caught tiny lizards. You were telling them “my Aunt Deb has a lizard. His name is Treeko!” You wanted to pet it and bring it home. Fortunately, I convinced you that you couldn’t carry the lizard and steer your bike!!! lol

When we got home, we snuggled on the couch & watched a little bit of Monsters, Inc. About half way through, we went to your room to read books. You snuggled up with me & we never even cracked the book. You were out in 2 minutes!!! I stayed a little longer than I had too. This week has been really busy at work and I’ve gotten home later than usual each night. Plus, I didn’t get to see you this morning. I miss you soooo much when that happens and I feel terrible. Snuggling with you and watching you drift off to sleep makes it so much better.

I love you so much!

7/28/20 – Tomorrow Look At My Legs

You fell asleep on my bed holding your Rubble in your hand. As much as you complain about napping, you have been laying in my bed, watching TV and Ms. Sandy has been scratching your back. Back scratches have been the key to getting you to sleep lately. It’s magic!

You were cutting strawberries your new knife set that arrived today. You were so proud of yourself. You did a workout with Daddy with his new TRX straps.

When I got home you couldn’t wait to show me your exercises. You were using the chair to demonstrate push ups and donkey kicks.

You sent Ms. Sandy a voice message before bed telling her to have a good night and I love you. Then you said “and tomorrow look at my legs because I’m bigger now!”

When we went to your room to read books, you kept kicking your feet out from the covers. You said, “can you believe how long my legs are mama? I’m going to be in Pre-K!”

I fell asleep with you and woke up at 3am to pee. I went to my bathroom & one minute later you were climbing in my bed. I asked if you wanted to go back to your room and you said yes, so I carried you back to your room and we laid down. Then you were all hyper & wanted to have a snack. You said I want an apple and a banana. So I grabbed you a banana, you ate it and you looked at pictures & videos on my phone. You showed me your leg and said “look Mama look how long my legs are! When I stand up I’m gonna be as tall as you!”

I love you so much!

7/27/20 – Bathtub Swimming

This morning, you jumped in the bathtub, because you didn’t take a bath after swimming yesterday. When I came to check on you, you had pool toys & googles on!! I was cracking up laughing!

Ms. Sandy brought you to pick me up to go to lunch. In the car, Daddy called, so he met us for lunch. When he walked in the restaurant, you were soooo excited to see him! After lunch, we walked to get gelato. We had so much fun!! I will miss lunches with you when you go back to school next week!

You passed out on my bed & slept until almost 5p! You & Daddy were outside playing when I came down the street. You ran up to my car, jumped in the passenger seat & rode with me into the driveway. You LOVE riding in the front seat.

When we got inside, you told me “I took Harry outside because he was a good boy today so now I’m gonna give him a pup treat! If he bes (bees = is) a good boy, he can have three pup treats!”

I was so tired and wanted to go to bed early, but of course because you napped so late you weren’t tired at all. The last I looked at the clock it was almost 11p and you were still awake! I’m sure I fell asleep before you!!!

I love you so much!

7/26/20 – After My Movie Please

You & Olivia snuggled together in bed. You looked like you were holding hands in some of the photos that Chrissy sent me. When Olivia woke up in the middle of the night she was so excited you were there that she almost woke you up! Olivia woke up before you in the morning, but you came out 10 minutes later. You were a great listener and very much enjoyed your sleepover!

You finished watching the rest of Brave, then helped Chrissy make pancakes for breakfast. She asked if you wanted to call me & you said “no, after my movie please.” lol. When Chrissy was trying to help Olivia you told her “no, I will do it. I’m in charge of Baby Olivia!”

You both had fun playing, jumping on the bed & swimming before you came back home. You got to have yogurt popsicles & Facetimed me from the pool while you were enjoying them!

Chrissy brought you home & you and Olivia played some more. You jumped on the pool noodles, played Paw Patrol, played with the instruments, showed her how your remote control cars work & sang songs with Daddy. You both had tons of snacks, lunch & dinner.

You were up late last night, woke up early & played hard all day, so we went to your room at 7:45p. You didn’t want to climb in your bed with me because the sun was still up. I assured you you didn’t have to go to sleep, that we just need to read some books. I was reading you Lady & the Tramp. About half way through, you put your hand on my arm. Two pages later, you were snoring.

I love you so much!!

7/25/20 – The house is soooooo pretty!

You came to my room at 3am, climbed in bed, rubbed my face and said “please please please please snuggle with me!” I said of course. You kissed me and went back to sleep.

Daddy took you to gymnastics so I could get set up for Romo’s surprise birthday party tonight at our house. You had a new coach today because Coach Lexie had a competition today. You were really good for the most part, but when you weren’t listening, she took your dot off to the side and made you sit out a round!

You & Daddy stopped at Coast to use the potty (but you chose to pee in the grass instead) & the tried to raid the snack cabinet. Daddy wouldn’t let you have Funyons & you weren’t happy about that. You stopped by Bed, Bath & Beyond to pick up some more wine glasses for the party & while waiting to check out, engaged with an older man who was chatting with you.

When you got home from gymnastics, you walked in, saw the house all decorated & said “Oh my gosh!!! The house is soooooo pretty!” You immediately checked everything out. You determined that the table needed a golf ball on each spoon and candle holder lol! You decided to have a blueberry snack while sitting on the dining room table because we all our chairs were put away.

We met Jackie for lunch on her way into town for the party. You were so happy to see her, you insisted on sitting next to her at the table. When we got home, Chrissy came to pick you up for your first sleepover at her house. You put your hands on Jackie’s cheeks and kissed her and said I love you. You gave me hugs and kisses then group hugs and kisses with Daddy. You were so excited to get to sleepover.

Chrissy kept me posted throughout the evening, which I appreciated (I’ve been away from you overnight, but this is only the second time you are spending the night without me or Daddy, and the first time you were home while we were away). You were excited to feed Baby Olivia & play with her. You got to take an evening swim and have a yogurt popsicle. You both took a bath, ate mango ice cream & watched Brave (you only made it through part). You wanted to sleep next to Olivia’s crib, so Chrissy moved a mattress right next to it.

I love you so much!

7/24/20 – Oh No, That’s Bad Dad!

This morning you were sleeping so peacefully, I didn’t want to get out of bed. While I was in the shower, you got yourself dressed. To my surprise, you had your 3rd birthday shirt on (how does that fit?!?!), your new mermaid shorts & your fancy Elsa shoes. You brought your Atlas book & insisted we read instead of letting me get ready for work! How can I turn down a language book? We downloaded the app on my phone so that we could hear the proper pronunciation for many of the languages I have never heard. We laid on my bed working on that for about 20 minutes!

Sandy took you to Robinson preserve for lunch. You had so much fun picking flowers, shells & rocks. You looked adorable in your new fishing hat.

After work, we went to Zoe’s Kitchen for dinner. One the way, there was a huge thunderstorm rolling in. You said, “c’mon Daddy go faster.” Daddy said “look at all that rain on the weather radar.” You replied, “Oh no, that’s bad Dad!” It poured the entire drive there and stopped as soon as we parked! We played when we got home & you stayed up later than you should have, but we were having so much fun!!

I love you so much!
