Today at pick up you and Micha were playing and having fun. You both like to sit in each other’s cars, which I will never really understand the fascination with. Her Mom had to be somewhere so we finally got going. We ran to Whole Foods to pick up groceries and you stood out of my sunroof until the delivery person came. We headed straight to the condo for the long weekend. On the way I surprised you with a stop at Meanie’s Mini Donuts. You were so excited you immediately put it in your journal! As always, you conducted your own transaction, chose your donuts, placed your order and paid your bill. I love your fierce independence. It’s going to serve you incredibly well throughout your life.
You wanted to stay & walk around St. Armand’s but we had groceries, including ice cream bars, so we couldn’t. I made dinner as soon as we unloaded and shortly after Daddy came with the hounds. We went down to the beach, giant Slinky in tow & played and watched the sunset before jumping in the pool. You even tried to tell me the water was warm but then started joking that Mommy doesn’t night swim. I promised you I would when we get into the new house because we will have the hot tub! We headed upstairs when it got dark & the bugs came out. You asked if you could go up first without us (another huge independence pull) and I said yes. When Daddy & I got up there, you were already in the shower. I came in & told you how happy I was to see that & you earned a point. You had an ice cream bar and we headed to bed after you finished. You were out quickly by 9:15p.
