11/1/22

This morning you were a little slow to walk in and the counselor came and asked if she could walk in with you. You took her hand and she kindly walked you to class. I was happy to see that! You had your first Little Veterinary School class tonight. Daddy picked you up so I could go see a yoga speaker, but I stopped by at pick up time to give you a kiss and surprise you with some scented playdough you have been asking for. Daddy took you down to the pool and you guys caught the sunset. When I got home, you ran and hugged me hard. You read a Thunderstorm book to me and did a great job!

10/31/22 – Super Sonic

When you woke up this morning, you wanted to immediately put on your costume. I finally persuaded you to wear something festive but not your costume because you would be hot and get it dirty before trick or treat!

When I picked you up from school, you were excited to show me your new purple vampire teeth! We met Eva and her parents at Gecko’s for dinner before headed to Molly Circle to trick or treat. Everyone in the neighborhood was so happy to see you. Aunt Deb & Fed surprised you and came by too!!! It was a super fun night! You were of course hot & sweaty & peeled your costume off immediately in the car! It was a long day and we fell asleep together very quickly.

10/30/22 – DNA vs RNA

This morning, you were working on my computer on DreamBox, a school learning game platform. I looked over and you were watching a video on genetic mutations and the differences between DNA & RNA!!!! I was amazed at how you followed along and answered the questions! I made breakfast and you were hanging out on your air mattress. I headed to the store and you wanted to stay home and have a home day. When I got back, we headed down to the pool. When Jimmey got up from his nap you went up to his unit and played while Daddy & Burt watched football. I came in and cooked dinner and we went back down to the pool for dinner and sunset. We came back up to shower and read shark books. You took notes in your journal so you could remember important facts about basking sharks! When we finished the book, I turned off the light and you laid down and closed your eyes. Watching your eyes flutter as you drifted off to sleep was just like watching the sun set…going…going…gone! Hank was sleeping on your bed and you were sleeping on your air mattress on the floor!

10/29/22 – Your Footprint In Mine

You woke up this morning to find a Halloween card from Grandma Weezie in the mail at the condo. You were so excited to see your name on the envelope and even more excited to find the $5 inside!! I was trying to get you up and motivated but you were slow motion all morning.

I had to run to the new house and meet the architect so you hung out with Daddy. You guys unearthed some air mattresses in the closet and you thought that was awesome! You guys hit the pool and had lunch. When I got back, we went to the pool. Of course I wanted to catch the sunset, so I made pizza and brought it down to the pool. The sunset was gorgeous & you gave us several “performances” singing and dancing. Then on the way back up to the condo, you put your footprint inside mine and my heart melted.

We went upstairs, showered and watched shark fact videos on YouTube while staying up WAYYYYYY too late! You rolled over and immediately went to sleep on your air mattress in the living room around 10:45p!

10/28/22 – Sonic At School

You have been looking so forward to today’s Halloween party in your classroom. You woke up early and couldn’t wait to put your costume on. You were so excited about all the crafts and things I put together for the party. I love that you are so happy to have me involved. The party was so much fun and all the work was worth the look on your face when I walked into the classroom. I stayed for lunch, but had to leave at recess.

When I picked you up, we checked out the new house with Daddy. You were eating ALL the candy you got at school when we were at the house. You opened a Twix and it was green inside. You were shocked & said “Mom! It’s dye candy!” and you wouldn’t finish it! I was cracking up because you were calling them “Twigs” so we sent a video to Aunt Deb because they are her favorite!

We went to Whole Foods then to the condo to cook! It was too late to go swimming but we stayed up late watching shark fact videos and reading your new shark books.

10/27/22 – Best Server Ever

I came for lunch and you couldn’t wait to tell me you got a 100% on THREE sight words lists! I couldn’t believe it! At recess, you were playing Bubble Gum Bubble Gum with the girls and you gave Layla a talking to about how she was making you mad when she wouldn’t give you back your spot on the carpet earlier lol. The dynamic between your girls is hilarious. I love getting to see how you interact with everyone in your element!

After pickup, we had to drop off some party supplies to Ms. Marchese so I snagged a few photos of you in front of the photo backdrop I put together for your class. Then, we went to the library to pick up a Sonic book. Selby didn’t have it and you were so upset that the clerk checked and told us that North Sarasota branch had one so we went to grab it. We also grabbed every single shark book they had lol! You were so happy!

We went to Cafe Epicure after to celebrate your amazing sight words feat. You brought your books and your journal so you could make a list of all the book titles you got! When we finished, you put your napkin in your pants to make an apron and pretended to be our server. Jalena, our server saw you and thought it was adorable so you invited you to come inside to prepare our check and run our credit card! You were so excited about that!

We stopped at Kilwin’s on the way home to the condo. We played Jenga then took some of 20 shark books from the library to bed to read!
